Many circuits take you to discover the landscapes and truffle heritage of the Lalbenque region and also other very diverse and interesting settings in the nearby surroundings. * Path of Santiago de Compostela (GR65) :
The great adventure of the Path of Santiago de Compostela is a story which goes back to the Middle Ages. It begins with the supernatural discovery of a grave in Galicia at about the year 800. You will walk on the tracks of the apostle Jacques who had for mission to preach the word of the Christ in West. During his return in Jerusalem he is beheaded. His remains are carried in a boat and the legend tells that, guided by an angel, it runs aground on the coast of Galicia. It is in full period of crusade when Santiago de Compostela becomes a Holy city of the same order as Jerusalem and Rome. Today the Path keeps its mysterious side.
It is more and more frequented, it is also an average original to browse one of the most beautiful region of France.
As you can see it, the GR65 does not pass far from Lalbenque: Limogne, Varaire, Bach, Vaylats, Escamps, Laburgade, Flaujac-Poujols. The variant of Rocamadour via St Cirq Lapopie also arrives by the village of Concots to join the GR65 to Bach. The GR65 continues on the section: Varaire - Cahors.
